Paper or paint in bathroom?

We currently have wallpaper in our bathroom, but we struggle with mildew. We are going to redo the bathroom and I was wondering which would be more mildew resistant - paper or paint?

Having adequate ventilation is most important.
However, I don't like paper in a bathroom at all. When I do a bath remodel, we don't even use paper-faced drywall.
First and foremost, make sure you have a quality, properly vented fan installed.

I'd never wallpaper a bathroom
Wife had a border along the ceiling at her Condo & we took that down before we sold it

Wallpaper adhesive is gourmet mold food. Even if the wallcovering is all vinyl, the mold will be eating the paste. Show me a bathroom with wallpaper and I'll guarantee it has mold somewhere.

We just removed a couple decades of wallpaper - no wallpaper is ever again allowed in the house!

I heard this the other day - "wallpaper is like a tatoo, seemed like a good idea at the time, but later you'll probably want to get rid of it and it is very painful to remove..."
