Need advise on bathtubs

Ok we just purchased our home and there was a window in the middle of shower. So well..we took it out. Now we are wanting to purchase a newer tub and surround. We have looked at several. The only two we really like that fit our budget are Lyons and Ameriwall. Just want to buy one that's going to last. Any one have and opinions? HELP PLEASE!!!

Right now we have a cast iron that is not in that great a shape. We figured that if we're going to upgrade everything thing then why not the tub too. Aren't all the tubs now a days fiberglass? We just want one that's easy to clean and will last for awhile. Any suggestions??

Where abouts are you from? Getting deals on tubs/showers can be hard because of shipping costs for these large items. Giving us a geographical location may help get you better responses.

my opinion is " cast iron " tubs are the best ,they last longer than fiberglass and it is easier to maintain.

Easy to clean and last for awhile is any bathtub. Acrylic, fiberglass, POS or Castiron.

Last the longest would be cast iron.

Cheapest would be fiberglass

Middle ground would be POS (porcelain on steel)
