Mounting Lighting Fixture onto Mirror

Hello -

Our lighting fixture on the bathroom mirror just started to come off. Looks like it was attached with glue strips.

Can someone recommend what I should use to mount that back up securely?

Thank you,
D

I dont have a picture at the moment but included one I found that kinda explains how it is attached and how power gets to it.

This is what "I" would do.

1. Glass drill bit (big enough to get a drywall anchor through), drill holes to line up with holes in the fixture, install drywall anchor, screw light fixture into drywall anchors with a hand screwdriver so not to overtighten.

A good thing to do is mark your holes with the fixture on the mirror, then put a nice wide 2" square piece of tape covering the hole then remark the spot to drill on top of the tape. This will help reduce the risk of cracking or chipping the mirror.

A steady hand and slow progress with the bit is the key, don't press too hard when drilling, let the bit do the work.

You can get the bits at home depot or lowes, just ask a salesman where they are and they should say for glass and tile.

The picture you posted even shows the holes in the mirror, but someone whited them out as well as the screws.

Thank you... I will try what you have suggested. I would hate to use a glue that would fail and cause it to crash down.

Thanks again

Some Diy nust have installed that light there, that style light was ment to be mounted to the wall not the mirror.
Good luck trying to drill the holes to mount it, hope it works.
