medicine cabinet question

We recently ordered a medicine cabinet and wall cabinets for our bathroom. The depth is 8 inches. We were trying to decide what type of lighting would be best for the cabinet. A fee people have said it would look ugly if it were flush mounted and not recessed into the wall. What do you think? I've seen a lot of medicine cabinets that were flush mounted.

This is how we did our Bathroom light. If I remember, we got the light at Menard's. Depending on what your style is, you could go with hanging pendant, two side lights, etc.

medicine cabinet question

If the cabinet is a flush mount, it will not look ugly to mount it that way. If it were a recessed mount style cabinet that you flush-mounted then yeah, that would look strange. The recess-mounted style hae a 4-6" unfinished portion that is designed to hide in the wall cavity. It is usually approx 15" wide so it fits in between two wall studs 16 IOC. It gives you a little depth and space inside.
