marble vanity top and back splash ??

Hope this is in the right spot...

What would folks recommend as far as sealing a marble back splash to the marble vanity top? clear silicone?
Also, due to the imperfections of the old house (and, to be fair, my own work) there is small gap between the back splash and the wall, which is bead on bead wainscoting. I was thinking white silicone caulk for that.

I appreciate everyones input.

Silicone for the marble to marble joint------Painters caulk or polyseamseal for the marble to bead board joint.

Silicone can not be painted---that's why two different caulks.
