Maintain Consistency throught kitchen and all bathrooms?

Hi,
if I am doing a small re-model and installing new countertops and floors, is it better to insall the same countertop in the kitchen, guest and master bathroom to make it look consistent? Also, shoud the bathrooms get the same tile for the walls/shower/tub enclosures. I wasnt sure if it is better to have everything be the same so it matches, or if design wise it is better to have them differ, even if in similar styles (contemporary).?

IMO the different rooms don't have to match. I would prefer a variety.

Counter top usually refers to a horizontal worksurface in kitchens or other food preparation areas, bathrooms or lavatories, and workrooms in general. It is frequently installed upon and supported by cabinets.

There would be no good reason to have them all match.
