Leveling My Floor
I just got a quote from a contractor to level out my floor. His method of leveling out the floor is..
1. Install 1/4 underlayment to shim and level out floor.
2. Install cement board to provide a level surface.
He's charging $465 for this. Does this sound like a good way to do this and a reasonable price?
Your question is the equivalent of the following scenerio:
...Someone has visited and seen you, and subsequently guessed your weight.
That is what estimates essentially are (when someone can "view" the location and discuss project specifics, take measurements, inspect actual conditions & logistics - At the same time/location, then ask very specific questions, based on observations and experience).
They can then throw out their best "guest-imate".
You are now asking us to confirm, or challenge = your person's...."guess".
This cannot be accomplished over the internet; a project that is completely unseen, with the inability to ask onsite questions based on real-time observations, and with many missing details.
