kitchen floor - What else can be used to build-up 1/2" over slab

skinut2234 Member   Join Date: Nov 2006 Posts: 54	kitchen floor - What else can be used to build-up 1/2" over slab Currently 1/2 plywood over concrete slab (way it was when we moved in)- I can remove plywood which is nailed down- but I want to keep floor at same height. We are going to install vinyl tiles- What else can be used to bring floor up 1/2" over slab? Wood doesn't seem to be a good idea due to moisture

Engineered hardwood can be glued together and is safe on above grade slab. Other then that there Are what is called sleepers you can put down there strips that are safe for slab, then plywood over the sleepers, you will end up to be higher then what you are now.
