Installing kitchen upper cabinets, my soffiet is level, gain 1 inch over 15 feet


What can I do to install my upper kitcher cabinets when my soffiet is not level. I gain 1" over 15 "?

I am not sure what you mean by 1" over 15" but I had a similar problem and solved it by installing a 1x4 as a backing for the crown and on top, installing a crown molding.

Because the backing and crown molding were in same color, a slight uneveness was not noticeable.

Your soffit is off by 1" in 15 feet....sounds about right for today's construction.

i imagine you wish to put the cabinets flush with the soffit?

What if you had the cabinets stick out farther than the soffit by 6" and lower thqn the soffit by 6" as well, and then install a crown molding at the top edge of the cabinet that would cover the soffit edge?

Just a thought without a picture. If you can cover up the view of the unlevel soffit that would help. Is the rest of the ceiling level?
