I want to remove a tub kit and clean the original tile wall behind it.

Is there a product that takes adhesive and liquid nails off of tile?

If your thinking of trying to clean it good enough to leave it up I do not see that happening.
Most often enclosures get put up over tile like that to get out of doing it right when the old tile is leaking or failing in some way.
There is no magic liguid constrution adhesive remover.

If this is an older home, this would be my bet. Often times shower heads were added years after the original tub and the walls simply weren't built to handle the water hitting them. Tile and grout alone is not waterproof.
You don't cover up tile with a cheap surround unless there is a reason.
