If proper contact cement was used, you may not be able to get the laminate off. If you can, you will have to try and break the adhesive down with a solvent that will be nasty stuff.

If they were factory cabinets they may have had heat activated adhesive that was put in play with something akin to a photographic dry mount press. You may be able to get most of it off with kraft paper, a hot iron, and patience.

What is your goal in this? If it is just particle board under the laminate you are likely going to chew it up to the point it may not be useable.

Methyl ethyl ketone will make quick work of that contact cement, but it is a nasty irritant, is highly flammable and can cause birth defects, so you should DIY instead of having your pregnant wife do it for you.
