How high/to run ceramic tile on shower walls

I am building a shower stall with 12" ceramic tiles. Should I run them all the way up to the ceiling or not? I think my walls are 7'10. And what about the ceiling itself ? Tile that or not? I am going with a shower light also.
Thanks

I would go all the way around but that's just me.

Really up to you. I have seen five feet from the top of the tub, if shower pan, up to about a foot or so from the ceiling. Then there are the ones that tile the whole alcove from floor to ceiling, to make it a complete tiled box.

Another vote for full height here as well.

I think it just looks better, but that is certainly just a matter of opinion.

Definately full height and consider the ceiling too if it's within your budget. I did mine all the way up to the ceiling but am still having to contend with the moisture on the ceiling above the shower, mostly because my kids take too long in the shower.

I will also say go to the top even though it takes more planning. You do not want a piece at the top you want a full tile any pieces go on the bottom. If you go to the top also do the ceiling, again more planning to be sure the grout lines match up, the ceiling with the walls. Then finish the front with a decretive bullnose tile to give it a finished look.
