How do I construct a bath side panel?

Hi
Wanting to construct a side panel for a bath so I can tile over it, not sure where to start. Any tips.

Can I use plaster board or should I be using some stuff called "tilebacking" (they sell it in b an q).

Also wanting to make it so the 1 foot gap between the end of the bath and the wall is tiled. Any help appreciated.
