How can you cut a piece of Corian coutner?

We are getting a new fridge soon but the one we are getting is wider than the one we currently have. Our stove is next to the fridge and on the other side of the fridge the previous owner put a 5-6 piece of the Corian Countertop to match the rest. I want to actully now move the Corian to the other side of the stove so the fridge and stove can be "separate".

Here is the thing, the piece of Corian hangs over the edge of the wood it sits on (to match the rest of the counter).

I would like to somehow cut the Corian so I can still utilize it btwn the fridge and stove yet having enough room for the new wider fridge.

Does this all make sense? I only need to cut maybe 1-2 inches off.

Do I need to bring this piece of Corian somewhere or can I cut it at home using a certain tool?

Sounds like a jigsaw with a blade made for plastic would be your best bet.

Call a company that installs Corian. Ask if they can send someone over to cut it for you. It might cost you a little bit, but it will look right.

Saws that change direction can cause solid surface materials to crack away from the cut. Circular saw is OK, router is better.
