I have a 48" vanity and counter top that I'm trying to get into a just over 47.5" space. It looks like the space was meant to be 48" but when the builder got to the finishing they actually put in a 42" vanity and cut the vanity top to fit the current space and then added the back-splashes on top and wooded side pieces to close the gap between the vanity and the wall.
Has any body had any experience with removing the drywall on one or both sides of the vanity in order to allow it and the top (also 48") to fit? And then the drywall would come either down to the vanity top andI could use back and side splashes to clean up the look of where the drywall and vanity/vanity top meet.
Is it possible or am I asking for a whole lot of finishing trouble.
Would appreciate any experiences or advice anyone has to offer.
