gap under bypass shower door track
I'm reinstalling metal-framed bypass shower doors in an acrylic or plastic tub.
The portion of the tub where the inside of the bottom track rests isn't flat (the outside edge of the track is on a flat part of the tub). There's a gap between the bottom of the track and the tub that is too big to fill with caulk. What type of material should I use under the track to fill the gap? If grout, is there a specific kind that works with plastic tubs? thanks! |

WELCOME TO THE FORUM
You could find a rubber weatherstrip that would look good. This may sound funny, but I've seen plumbers use screen door spline (round). There are various types of weatherstripping in various colors and shapes that may work. How large is the gap? ![]() ![]() |

gap under bypass shower door track
I ended up finding a clue somewhere...backer rod. I put that in and it filled the 5/8" gap, then put in caulk to waterproof it.
Thanks! |
