drywall and one piece shower install???

Fentie,
The one piece fiberglass/acrylic units are made to fasten right to the studs. However, if the unit is going on an outside wall, besides proper insulation in the walls, our code in northern Ohio calls for sheathing to cover the studs that are part of the outside wall. They want either drywall or 1/2" cdx plywood or osb.
p.s. Did you take care of the cause of the mold problem?
