crown molding and chair rails
I am remodeling my kitchen and dining room... I am having custom oak cabinets put in the kitchen with oak crown molding...
here is the question and some back ground...
the 2 room flow directly into one another...no real separations...
I would like to put chair rail up in the dining room but the crown is going to be stained golden oak and i would like to continue the crown into the dining room... so do i match the chair rail to the crown stain?
My door frames and windows in the dining room are white...
Will it look horrible if the crown is oak stained and the molding is stained but the door frames and windows are white???
Thank you in advance...this project has become a major pain for me
What color are the baseboards in the kitchen and in the dining room?
One option might be to do something like the image below and have the wood stained chair molding yet tie in the white trim like below
Usually, all trim in a room matches. But there are ways to make what you're describing look good.
I just can't quite picture it. Maybe after your cabinets are installed, you could post a picture? Or provide more details about the rooms?
