Cracks in paint where vanity meets bathroom wall

Sorry if this is posted somewhere else....I want to repaint my bathroom and around the bathroom vanity where it meets the side wall there are cracks. Would this be because of a bad paint job...what can I do to make sure it doesn't happen again?
Thanks for any advice.

Since there is no pic, I am assuming the paint around the joint has pulled away from the wall and has cracked. You need to scrape off any loose paint and spackle/sand smooth before new paint. The whole surface should be cleaned with TSP or similar and/or sanded to improve new paint bond.

Looks like the San Andreas fault. You'll need a lot of spackle for that puppy.
