Caulk between pan and durock?

Hi All,

I've installed Durock about 1/4 above the shower pan flange. Should I caulk that gap before I tile? Then after the tile, also caulk where the tile meets the pan?

Or should I leave that gap alone and just caulk after the tile?

Most pan instructions say just put caulk between the pan and bottom tile. Leave the gap between wallboard and top lip of pan alone. Mortar from tiles can help fill the gap. If your pan has different instructions then do what they tell you.

Only thing I do is coat threads of screws on the top of pan flange with silicone and use stainless screws.
