Can I remove or move a stud from an outside load-bearing wall?

Hello all! We are intermediate-level DIY-ers remodeling our master bathroom.

We removed the 70s-era ceiling-mounted hung-by-chains lights over the vanity and plan to install vanity lights on the wall over each sink. We have a long vanity with two bowls. Currently each sink/faucet is centered over the cabinet doors on the vanity and we planned to keep the same center line for the lights above on the wall as well. In order to replace the insulation and have better access to the wiring we removed the sheet rock and found there is a stud directly behind the middle of one of the sinks.

We are purchasing a 73" Onyx lavatory counter top and have a choice where the sinks are located: 12.5", 14", 15.5" or 18.5" from the wall to the center of the drain. The current sink placement (and middle of the cabinet doors) is 15" from the wall. If we place the light junction box to the left of the stud it is centered 13" from the wall. Placed to the right of the stud it is centered at 18". We worry that 18.5" sinks won't work because A) the sink would be way off from the middle of the cabinet doors; B) the sink would start to encroach on the space for the vertical drawers between each sink; and C) we don't know if the plumbing for the sink would stretch that far.

This is on an outside wall so we are leery of removing or moving said stud. Can we move or cut it???

Any suggestions? THANKS! Emily :)
