Building a shower pan on a pre-sloped concrete floor

I am remodeling an older bathroom with a concrete slab floor, I tore out the old shower stall to find that the floor is already really sloped towards the floor drain (and it isn't a smooth even slope), The floor drain is also not in the center. I'm wondering what I need to do to fix this so I can put tile down, should I just make the drain higher, put down my felt over the concrete floor and make a more gradual even slope to the drain? Is the fact that the drain is not in the center of the floor going to cause problems when I tile it?

No felt and you need to raise the drain. The drain does not have be centered, however the finished deck will need to level around the perimeter. In other words one side of the drain may slope 1/4" per foot, the other side may slope 1/2" per foot towards the drain. Instead of the felt you are going to want to use a sloppy modified thinset, combed with a trowel and still wet before placing a preslope mud deck on top of it.
