Best way to connect bathroom fan's rigid vent ducts?

I'm putting in a new bathroom fan, and since the previous owner didn't have it properly vented, am going to run a long span of rigid 4" metal duct to the outside. Is metal tape enough to join the sections of duct, or should I use sheet metal screws as well?

I know with rigid dryer vent, they recommend not using screws because they would catch lint on the inside, but that shouldn't be a problem on a fan vent. On the other hand, if taping the joints is enough to hold the duct sections together, no need to use screws too.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Best way to connect bathroom fan's rigid vent ducts?

Use foil tape not duct tape.
Duct tape rots.
