Best tool for cutting quartz counter top??

This week I had to enlarge a sink opening for a new drop in sink--

I used a smooth edged diamond blade first and the cutting was way to slow--Then I switched to a segmented blade into the grinder--

Faster but still a pain---some times the resins in the material would ball up -

Blade matrix to hard?

I doubt if I'll be cutting any more soon but trimming vanity tops is a fairly common thing and the quartz tops are the 'in' thing right now.---Mike---

Mike, sounds like you need a water saw. Something to keep the temperatures down below the melting point of the resin. I don't know if you can safely flood the counter and use a traditional saw without getting electocuted or the GFCI from constantly tripping.
Fabricators use water jets to cut this. Basically an industrial water pistol. It's amazing to watch this thing cut through 3 cm granite like butter.
