bathtub insert
 
It seems my bathtube insert (ReBath) has separated from the tub. Can I do something to repair it or do i need to call in an expert?

dolores: how long ago was it done? I'd certainly call THEM to come back and fix it.

Those services are VERY expensive, almost as expensive as installing a new tub and tile (sometimes MORE!).

I would call them to complain and keep on them. I'm willing to bet that their sales pitch was how you would have such a fantastic bathroom for so many years, make them honor their word.

My understanding is that they have a lifetime guarantee against that sort of thing. I think it is even transferable. Isn't that how they justify charging as much as they do?

Thanks for the input. Got some info off the internet and my husband loosenend the drain (NOT an easy task) and there was water that had apparently gotten between the liner and tub. Once the water drained, the liner went back into place. We will re-caulk because the water must be getting in through where the caulk is separating.

I'd recommend using 100% silicone to seal it, not just 'any old caulk' for bathrooms, which may not have enough silicone to do the job well. Po)

The 100% silicone that says "for use on aquariums" would fit the bill well.
