Bathroom renovation

I am renovating a bathroom and will be tilng the bathtub walls do you recommend using a vapor barrier behind the backerboard?

I never do,except on outside walls.---many others like it.

There should be insulation with a vapor barrier on outside walls.

Is this a tub only or a tub/shower combo?
