backsplash tiles

My cabnets are 2" from trim and my countertop is 1/2" from trim, my question is which edge do I align the backsplash with?

backsplash tiles

I think the post should read, my cabinets are 2 inches from trim and the countertop is 1/2 inches from trim.

We lined ours up with the countertop. We used a pencil tile as a border on the edges of our backsplash.

backsplash tiles

i lined mine up with the edge of the cabinets so it wouldn't be out past the edge of the wall cabinets at the top
