You have a point, but isnt this a DIY chatroom? we like to do things hands on since we are very picky and are always trying to get the best deals.

kind of on the back side here but i have installed two glass backsplashes last week, one in a showroom and one in a condo. they both went in with sandblasted glass relying on the paint behind to provide the color. one has i believe lcd light tubes above to change the color of the entire panel.
-went with low iron sandblasted in the lighted unit. low iron for light transmission through the panel and sandblast for the rough finish (on the back side) to catch the light, smooth side out for easy maintenance.
-went with clear sandblast on the other install to avoid the high price for the screened or professionally painted product.
both look great!
