adding a 2nd floor toilet
Can a toilet drain be added to a 2nd floor of existing construction?
Our second bathroom is split into two rooms: one with a vanity and sink, only. The second room has a toilet, vanity with sink, and a tub shower combination. We would like to add a shower and toilet to the first room (which is large enough) and currently houses only a vanity and sink.
Would a new toilet drain be required, or could the new toilet be tied into the existing toilet drain? The new shower would back up to the plumbing wall of the existing tub and shower combination. Can the two showers use a common drain?
Yes you can connect both toilets to the 3in going to the sewer. You need to run a good amount of pipe tho. Make sure it drains like it is suppose to with fall. Then to the shower issue no it needs it separate drain which will not be hard because you can tie it into the toilet you just plumbed in. Then vent it and your done.
