acrylic kitchen sink questions

when using an acrylic kitchen sink does it feel like you are washing dishes in a plastic washtub?

asking beacuse they look just like porcelin but at a fraction of the cost and i have young kids that like to toss things into the sink (despite being reminded a million times not to).

thanks,
greg

The sound is different from steel or cast iron, but that is not necessarily bad. They do chip just like porcelain on other materials. For the situation you describe, a quality stainless sink might be a better choice.

that is what is in there now and i think it will stay for now. i also learned that the acrylic ones can stain if not cleaned properly.
