Ok, So I've located a gas leak under the concrete patio on the extension for the spa heater, BBQ, and firepit.
Gas is turned off and Gas Co is aware.
My dilema ..... I have dug down from the coated steel riser in the firepit . The coated steel is attached to a vertical stub of yellow pvc. I see that the 90deg & 45 degree fittings on the underground, horizontal yellow pvc are white pvc (not to code for NG service). I know that white PVC is not allowed for continuos service.
#1: Would it have been ok for the installers to put white pvc as junction pieces "after" the gas shut off(Dante Key) valve since they would not see continuous service?
#2 What is the likelyhood that they used white pvc as couplings under the concrete if they used them after the shut-off valve for the riser? I have yet to dig down for the spa heater and BBQ to see what 90 deg couplings were used on those locations since they have a continuous feed.
All in all, I see this as going to be a royal pain in the a**.
