yellow flames on Hotpoint Range

I posted the following message under appliances and figured I would post it here as well. Also, since then it has gone to blue flames and now back to yellow again.

I recently bought and installed a GE Hotpoint Gas Range after reading a great review in Consumer Reports and also having the personal accounts of a friend who owns one. So here's the deal: I installed it about 3 weeks ago, no problems. Everything hooked up nice and easy (I was certainly glad I didn't pay the 175.00 delivery and installation charge). I went through the hookup process as outlined in the manual. Checked all the burners for proper ignition and flame color. Everything was perfect. So tonight, all of a sudden all of the 4 burners are burning rather yellow--not just tips, but probably half of the flame is yellow. I have read that if it got dirty it could cause a yellow flame, but this is brand new and it is on all the burners. Any ideas?

Yellow flame means the gas is not fully combusting, which can be dangerous since it will realease more carbon monoxide and other biproducts.

Have you checked your furnace, hot water tank, anything else? What about the oven itself.

I'd call the gas department regardless, it'll probably be free, good advice.
