Question

Is it worth pulling my bathtub out?

Hi everyone, I'm from Australia (not sure if this is worldwide) I will introduce myself a bit more later but have a burning question for now.

My bathtub has a lovely crack in the base and am wondering if there was a way to repair it. I think I need to pull the tub out cause I don't think the drain is draining properly. Metal basket in drain isn't secure to anything and when I look down the plug hole I see concrete :s is this normal or am I missing a pipe, also how easy is it to do the plumbing including removal and resetting a bathtub. Sorry I'm 21 and female so I am not a pro.

What is the tub made of? If it's cast iron, it will be very, very heavy. Have you been using this tub? Looking down the drain and seeing concrete is definitely wrong.

Yep---this is world wide---plenty of Aussies here---and tub plumbing is pretty much the same world wide---

If the drain is bad and the tub has a leak---changing it for a new one would seem to be the best option.
