worst metal for calcium deposits

Hi I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of metal is most conducive to calcium deposits? For instance, steel, copper, etc. And what exactly causes calcium deposits/lime buildup?

Why are you asking?
If you get the water tested and figure out what's wrong with it you can treat it before it ever gets to the plumbing.
One place it's really going to cause issues is in the water heater. It can build up on the bottom of the tank and short out the element, take longer to heat the water, make all kinds of noises as it pops off when heating, shorten the life of the heater.

Ayuh,... The build up, comes from minerals in yer water supply,...

It'll build up on anything, metal or otherwise...
