Nothing special about it, he said so himself.
Not sure Why!! wait a minute you say you could do your own plumbing if that's the case then you would know why..

Experience is Knowing what to do next, Skill is knowing how to do it

as mentioned we can help you through it ..but don't judge another mans business expenses by what you think you know....why ...because you don't know his overhead cost...taxes, insurance for business, self, and employees, equiptment, and the list could go on....I can tell you for sure that is not a bad price I have been in business for 40 yrs now ..just my health insurance for 6 men is over 7000.00 dollars a month ..not counting workmens comp.... if he can't help you and we can't perhaps call a few more plumbers see what kind of other pricing you can get.. no disrespect just facts..ben sr

Doctors are folks that make educated guesses and usually treat the symptom not the disease. Plumbers are the folks who have eliminated many common plagues of civilization saving millions of lives since the times of the roman empire. Until the late 20th century doctors were still butchering patients and had no idea of even washing ones hands. They had no treatments.

You have clean drinking water thank a plumber. If your not going outside to **** in a hole thank a plumber.
