Will an open plumbing system cause everything else to back up

In our guest bathroom the toilet was falling through the floor so had to take it out to redo the floor. However once I cut out the floor discovered some rotten floor joist that need to be fixed before redoing the floor. So the toilet in the guest bathroom is still off and the open hole in the floor is covered with a thin piece of plywood. My wife did some laundry this morning and every sink, shower, bathtub, and the other toilet started backing up. I rented a 100' snake from home depot and ran it through the 3" sewer line and it came out the end to the clean out. So the pipes aren't clogged up. Was wondering if because of the open hole of where the toilet used to be is allowing air in the system and causing the backup? If so is there a way I can plug it up while I fix the other problems? Right now there is just a scrape piece of 19/32 plywood laying on top of it so nothing falls into the hole.

NO... The fact the toilet (toilet trap) is not currnetly in place did not cause your main line to plug...

You say your snake came out your cleanout... how far downstram is your cleanout, or did your snake go the wroing direction in your drainage.

Water flows downhill toward your street sewer... do you where that is

The guest bathroom is in the front of the mobile home. Looking under the house it's the start of the 3" sewer pipe. The cleanout is in the back of the home sitting 2' from the corner.

I was kind of thinking the same thing. When I look down the cleanout it looks like it's flowing but is slow. But not sure how fast it should be flowing. Will call them in the morning when office opens .

When you look down your clean out, you should see empty pipe.

I suspect it turns down pretty quickly... probably can't see all that far

The blockage is beyond the house- either in the septic or sewer line. if you're on septic, ask the office when it was last serviced.

For the toilet flange- you can purchase an expandable plug to seal it while you rebuild the floor. Your hardware store should have it

Been talking to some neighbors they have had some problems with toilets clogging. We are at the end of the park so suspect the end of the sewage system too. Will check into the plug would be better than the plywood.
