Thumbs up

Wife says I'm crazy to wait a whole week

I want to put in a new bathtub and tiles on the walls in our small bathroom. I'm thinking of replacing the bathtub this weekend, and put up roofing paper and Hardibacker boards on the walls surrounding the bathtub. And then I was going to wait until the next weekend to put in tiles & grout it. In the mean time I was going to tape plastic sheets all over the walls to keep water from splattering on the Hardibacker when showering. My wife says I'm crazy to wait a whole week to put in the tiles. She thinks something somehow is going to be damaged by water when we shower during the week. Is she right? (It wouldn't be the first time... )

as long as your plastic sheet holds up your ok, it's like a shower curtain for the wall

run first sheet UP from bottom, tape it real good to the wall; run second from top down with at least 50% overlap, seal it with carpet tape IE double sided tape and you will be good to go

Your wife might be right that your crazy - but's another matter that will require some serious couch time - the plastic is the way to go.

Use something like Vis-queen....not trash bags or 3-mil garbage
