Default Why does the faucet make a *thump* when I turn the water on?

My kitchen sink was slack on pressure, so I removed the tiny washer in the aerator that has the pin hole in it. Pressure is very nice now, however, when the water is turned on suddenly the faucet *thumps* and actually shakes a little.

Any fix to this besides putting the washer back and can it cause undue stress and damage in the long run?

Check to see if the washer is loose (after you shut things off and dismantle stem) sometimes the washer can cavitate if it is ready to fall off inside.
