Where to Move this Toilet?

Am remodeling the parent's bathroom now, and realize the passage in front of the toilet to wallk into the tub (now shower area) is really too narrow of a passage. Would like to pull the toilet back about 9", into the wall behind it. The wall behind the toilet has 2X8 studs, and the stack (venting, I think.... It's a 4" white) is along one of the studs.
Apart from hiding the stack, the wall seems to be a false wall.
Am not thinking of moving the stack, but of setting the toilet right next to it (and walling up the stack again.)

Setting the toilet back into the wall would give me an added 9". (The passage right now is a narrow 25", and the toilet is round vs. elongated). I'm expecting I'd have to trench into the concrete and connect to the drain beneath the toilet.

An easier way?:
Have thought also of turning the toilet 90 degrees, having it sit on the same drain hole, which would widen the passage to shower by 3"...but seems odd to have toilet facing oncomers....
Would be great to pull the toilet back, but is it possible???

I'd be a little more inclined to think the 2x10 wall is the bearing wall, not the 2x4 one. I bet the original bathroom layout had the room too narrow for the 5' tub that used to be there, so the bigger wall got hacked out to accomodate it. If that's not the case, cutting out the wall and moving the toilet back wouldn't be too hard. It would require more jackhammering anyway to move the toilet flange, so I'd keep hammering and move that 2" drain and vent back into the 2x4 wall. But structural integrity is paramount here. Best to do a bit more research.

Yes, shower area was enlarged for tub at Day One of house build (quirky construction in original). There's another wall behind the 2x8 "false" wall (behind toilet, current position) that runs counter to the trusses--so I think will be the weight alright.

Uploading photos taking a lo n g time. Another wall which can offer support to roof is behind wall I want to move toilet into though.

As long as you can confirm that the 2x8 wall is not load bearing you're good to go.

I'm more concerned about having "oncomers" when I'm on the pot.... but that's just me.

I'd bet that someone got the drain in the wrong place when the slab got poured, and the "false wall" is covering up the mistake.... bringing the wall to meet the toilet instead of the other way around.
