whats this thing hanging under my sink.

I have a receptacle under the sink the dishwasher has a cord on it that plugs in to the receptacle.
The GD has a cord on it with a plug that goes into the receptacle with a switch above the counter top, works out nice.

PS: Both cords are heavy duty no flimsy stuff.

I installed first a cord on my dishwasher 24 years back--At the time all the machines were hard wired---I figured it was my own house---so what if code called for hard wired----I hate wiring those things while laying on the floor---

I do it all the time---but not in my own house----

Rather than attempting to remove it completely, why not mount a junction box and terminate the BX cable inside with a cover?

That way, if your circumstances change in the future, you can always re-purpose it.
