I am looking into "relocating" a water heater. Actually, I have a tank less water heater in my detached garage all the way on the corner... this is about 30 feet from my bathrooms. I am not very happy with the performance of this unit, specially in the winter.
I would like to install a "regular" water heater on the outside wall next to my bathrooms. I believe this will ensure I get faster hot water and actually some true HOT water when needed.
I will need to "tap" the lines under my house to allocate for this new heater. More than likely I will hire a plumber to get this done for me... water and gas lines. I just want to make sure the plumber do a decent job by educating myself on the things to keep in mind when doing a job of this type.
Is there any problems with taping the closest lines with a T? Or any specific guidelines that need to be followed?
