What is this stuff I'am working with?

My brother and I bought a town home as a fixer upper to re-sell,it's about 23 yrs old,and the supply lines in the home are this gray plastic pipe with band clamps at the joints,I'am sure there must be a trade name for this junk

Everything I touch or even look at to long leaks, some of the joints you could just move a hair and they stop leaking, others a narrow worm clamp around the band has worked, and I've been as carefull as I can replacing the fixtures,

Yep. It's called "junk" or "the stuff that spawned a class action lawsuit".

also known as polybutylene pipe or PB pipe.

search polybutylene lawsuit. You'll find a lot on it.

That stuff caused a lot of problems for a lot of people. Get as much of it out as you can! Switch to PEX, CPVC, or copper.
