What replacement Moen shower/tub part should I order?

Hey folks, this is my first post. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have a leaking tub spout in my bathroom. It drips out of the tub spout about once every 20 seconds. Everything else works fine and is fully functional. Iím trying to figure out which replacement part I should order which would fix this problem. Would a new Cartridge solve this problem or is it something else? The tub/shower faucet is a Moen Monticello, installed in 2001.

Thanks!

If you were the homeowner that installed the tub spout Moen will replace the parts for free. Just call their 800 number and they will help you figure out what you need. They have been very helpful in my experience.

Thank you for the suggestion. I actually looked at their website and it said I need my original receipt which I don't have from 10 years ago but I will give it a whirl.

clydesdale is correct. Moen, as well as Delta, have a lifetime warranty. They may try to give you the run around with the receipt, but if you push a little they should help you out. Short of that just get a new spout. Good luck!

I have used the warranty service 3 times over the last 5 or so years and they never asked for a receipt and they have been incredibly helpful. They will only guarantee the parts to arrive in 7-14 days at no cost to you but I have found that they usually arrive in about 5 days. They do offer an 2-day expedite service for a fee. I really won't buy anything besides Moen if I have a choice. Don't know if it is the best out there but they stand behind the product.
