What is light green 1/2" threated piping used for?

I know that black piping is used for gas. I know that non-color galvanized piping is used for water. However, I have this light green piping that I had in storage for 10 to 20 years that I don't know what it was made for. It looks like 1/2" galvanized piping, but it was factory painted light green. I know this is factory paint because the brand "Flecher" was painted on it several times.

Does anybody know for sure what 1/2" light green threaded piping is used for? Thanks.

What you have is most likely pipe to which Fletcherkote epoxy coating has been applied. It's for corrosion resistance. It's used in municipal water systems.

Not sure why it has to be green. Usually green = sewer, blue = water, yellow = gas.

We get the same stuff yellow for gas. Why water would be green, I don't know. It's all the same stuff though.
