What kind of PEX is this?

I'm trying to determine what type/brand of PEX connection this is. Can anyone help?

I've never used that type of PEX connecting system, but it appears to be an Axis Pex connector. One name brand is Ardi Pex.

http://www.ardipex.com/pex-fittings-...stallation.php

It looks similar to ProPex, where a Pex expansion ring is expanded to fit over the end of the pipe and fitting and allowed to shrink. In the Axis system the tubing itself is expanded and then a copper, brass or stainless steel sleeve is crimped over the connection.

It looks to be a very robust connection, but may be overkill. Perhaps that's why I've never seen it used around here.

They call it rehau around here. You'll need to get a closer look at a fitting to be sure, but from what I understand you can use that fitting on all plastic versions of pex.
