What do you normally do when someone wants their washing machine under a countertop?

How do you make the connections? We've always talked people out of doing it that way, but I don't think that is going to work on my wife.

For the hour at a time it's used to wash clothes...
A hinged top or a roller base might work..

A bigger family with LOT's of laundry to do... may find either a PITA

Yeah. I agree with you.

I was thinking maybe I could put the C/W box down low to the counter, and put something like this in the countertop.

Then I could put a nice fake plant or something in front of the hoses.

Wives.

That thought had crossed my mind as well, putting the water and drain connection in a cabinet next to the washing machine, but the difference between the two is the open ended pipe hiding inside of a cabinet.

If it were to back up, and flood inside of a cabinet, the upside is that I wouldn't have to carry linens very far to the washer.

I am just picking brains here.

Use a 2" riser to the washer box, then a 3" trap and run 3" to a 3 or 4 " line. Don't tie it together with the kitchen sink for a ways. Just my thoughts. Good luck...
