i personally like the delta multi choice valve with the 1700 series it is able to control volume and temp separate but in a stack hard to explain look at link
http://www.deltafaucet.com/search/re...ml?q=17+series
and if you do ever get a drip it is easy to fix with a quad ring kit and free just call delta

THIS. To the OP: you do not WANT a one handle faucet. I have one, and if I can't plumb it out to what jay is showing in his hyperlink, I'll hire someone to do it! The one handle solution is awful, trying to reduce or increase pressure invariably leads to an (unintentional) temperature change (sometimes a large temperature change).

Whats wrong with a good single handle faucet?
In some areas you arent allowed to install anything but a single handle anti scald faucet any more

Although an anti-scald valve is a very good idea its always better to turn down the hot water temps at the hot water heater.

Anti scald valves are code here----good idea,too----( But I'm in Chicago land where the codes are written from the governors wing at the federal penitentiary)

I would never use an Anti-scald valve in place of turning down the water temp or visa versa.

Thank you for that informative post. Precisely what temperature would you recommend and what do you do about permits and inspections,is there a variance that you apply for?

For children & adults it should be no more than 110°F - 115°F.

OMG, you are going to give people legionnaires disease! ! !

I don't adjust them at all. Factory setting. If H.O. wants to play with their thermostats, that's on them.
