Well water with air in lines...?

Just bought a new house and it runs off of well water I have a few questions. When you turn the hot water on the water is more rusty(this happened before I put the water heater in and after they had the lines run together it was elbowed together at the hot water heater) and when I turn the hot water on it keeps shooting air through the lines. (this also happened before and after the installation of the water heater).. Any ideas on what it could be? Thank y'all
