Where is it located?
What kind of well?
What kind of pump?
What power is going to the pump ?
Who's been replacing it & what trouble shooting have they done?

It is a submersible pump with 220 volts running to it and I have been replacing it for my father in law. He hasn't done any repairs besides replacing it.

Could be you need a deeper well because it is being pumped dry. You might be able to add a retriggerable timer relay so it won't run as long if there is a problem.

You have an electrical problem and need to check the electrical cable etc. to the pump. You culd also be suffering from short cycling of the pump where it leads to overheating of the motor so check the air pressure in the pressure tank with no water in it, it should be 1-2 psi less than the turn the pump on switch setting..
