Install a large cistren, to hold water once pumped from the well, this would give a buffer in the event the well dried up or the well pump died, you could then pump from the cistren to the house, this pump would be far more accessible, both pumps would require a backup generator.
Keep a spare cistren pump in the event that is failed.
When its all said and done there is usually more said than done
No experience with well pumps but if I were faced with that problem, I would get a back up power generator. That would not only supply power for the water pump but also for refrigerators, freezer, aquariums and lights. If you have water heating solar panels, a generator can supply power for the circulation pump too.
If you go with a back up power generator, be sure that the exhaust cannot feed back into your or a neighbor's home.
